Gary is the owner of Gary’s Hilltop and has been in business for 43 years. He grew up in the East end of town and his son was a member of the department. Gary has been a commissioner for Torringford since 2017 and is the chariman of the board of commissioners.

Scott was a member for seven and a half years in the 90s and moved up to the rank of Deputy Chief before resigning. Scott has been a commissioner since 2011.

I joined Torringford just before I turned 18 in 1977. I rose up through the ranks and held the offices of Secretary, Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief and Chief. My favorite position was Captain which I held for 17 years. I was Chief twice for a total of 8 years. I was a member of Torringford for 37 years before going to Harwinton Westside in 2014. I returned back to TVFD in 2022. I have been an active firefighter for 46 years. My reason is still the same; to help the citizens of my community, city and region.

I have also been an instructor at the Litchfield County Regional Fire School since 2009.
