After playing sports my whole life I was looking for an opportunity to give back to my community that included the same type of comradery that I had known for so long. I joined Torringford because I felt the fire service could provide me that opportunity. During my time on Torringford I have come to know many people that share the same desire to give back to their community and utilize their skills and life experiences to contribute to our mission of service.

While on Torringford I have held the positions of Vice President, President, and Captain. It is my honor to serve my community as well as my fellow firefighters in this role.

I joined Torringford just before I turned 18 in 1977. I rose up through the ranks and held the offices of Secretary, Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief and Chief. My favorite position was Captain which I held for 17 years. I was Chief twice for a total of 8 years. I was a member of Torringford for 37 years before going to Harwinton Westside in 2014. I returned back to TVFD in 2022. I have been an active firefighter for 46 years. My reason is still the same; to help the citizens of my community, city and region.

I have also been an instructor at the Litchfield County Regional Fire School since 2009.
